Our 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir was awarded 94 points by Decanter Magazine:
“This is a wine built for ageing. A blend of the nine finest barrels in the cellar, it is a bigger Pinot Noir, made to drink ideally in a decade or more. Some of Elk Cove’s choicest estate vineyards are part of this barrel selection, including a predominance of fruit from Mount Richmond, Goodrich and La Boheme vineyards. Rich and redolent aromatics, dusty blackberry, a hint of dried herbs and sweet notes of strawberry coulis. The palate is ripe, balanced and amply structured. Concentrated flavours of sappy blackberry, blueberry and fig are woven in a core of dark fruits. The wine’s body is generous, with mouth-coating dark fruit, yet peeks of minerality, clove and fresh mint offer symmetry to the abundance of fruit. Brilliant acidity and a lengthy finish for this wine offers whispers of what it will one day become.” – Clive Pursehouse, Decanter Magazine
