Pure fruit notes recalling pears and Golden apples are very pleasant. Although it is a bit simple, it is also simply delicious.

This is a Pinot that deftly walks the line between subtlety and sweet fruitiness. Red berry and cherry flavors stand at center stage, with a faint whiff of oak spice lending complexity along with a tender tug of tannin that frames the finish.
“With some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in the Willamette Valley, Elk Cove’s date back to 1985. Whole-cluster-pressed and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks, the aromatics sing with apricot and tangerine. There seems to be a charge of electricity in the wine, pizazz from lime zest, floral notes of honeysuckle and greener notes of basil and thyme”
“Fruit from estate hillside vineyards is whole-cluster pressed and cold-fermented in small, stainless-steel tanks. The freshness is apparent starting with a complex, voluptuous nose of green apple and just-squeezed oranges. Racy acidity works with hints of cashew, green tea, and pineapple.”
“Bright, with high-toned acidity. A light sprinkle of white pepper settles on dusted rose petals, a strawberry patch, and tobacco leaf. Earthy and spicy, with just the right balance of fruit tones to keep it fresh.”
Our 2019 Mount Richmond Pinot Noir has a “generous stream of red and blue fruit melds with mocha, fig preserves, and nutmeg for an elegantly appointed mouthfeel.”
“Deep ruby color, bright cherry nose; ripe cherry, juicy style, crisp, racy and fresh; long and tangy.”
“Deep ruby color, silky texture, lush and tangy black cherry and spice with hints of toasted oak and vanilla, balanced and long.”
“Medium ruby color, fresh cherry nose; balanced, long and complex…generous and stylish.”
“Rich ruby color, lush black cherry nose; silky and juicy with bright cherry fruit…tangy and elegant.”
Smooth pear nose, juicy, fresh and tangy with full, luscious style; I would venture to say, this is the most that can be expected from this variety; totally charming and balanced.
