2016 Clay Court Library Release
This wine opens with aromas of pie cherry, pinesap and wet bark. Red fruited with a clay minerality, the purity of fruit on the palate evokes ripe red strawberry and raspberry tea with a backbone of smooth tannins and a graceful, flinty char.
92 Points, Vinous, 2019
“Deep bright red. Musky red berries, cherry pit, candied flowers and succulent herbs on the spice-tinged nose. Chewy and focused in the mouth, showing very good definition and mineral lift to the subtly sweet raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors.”
– Vinous (May, 2019)
Wine Spectator: 91 Points
“Shows structure and finesse, with elegant cherry and tart blueberry flavors accented by dark tea and savory spice notes that build richness toward refined tannins.”
