Elk Cove co-founder Pat Campbell was featured on the cover of the our local wine magazine, Oregon Wine Press!
In the featured article, Blazing the Trail: Saluting Willamette Valley’s Unherolded Winegrowers, writer Kerry McDaniel Boenisch honors several women viticulturists whose hard work in the vineyard were sometimes overlooked – including her own mother Donna Jean McDaniel of McDaniel Vineyards.
“During the start of Oregon’s modern wine brands, these remarkable women stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their husbands, carrying out viticultural, production, tasting room and marketing duties while simultaneously raising children and working in other endeavors. This story celebrates them, along with the second and third generations now dedicating their lives to the vineyard lifestyle…”
Thank you Oregon Wine Press for featuring our mother’s story just ahead of Mother’s Day – and thank you to all of the tough mothers who helped blaze the trail for Oregon winegrowing. Read all about them in the May 2025 issue of the Oregon Wine Press. Cheers!
