The dust has settled and Project Elevate The Estate is complete! We hope you’ll visit us soon and appreciate the beauty of our new space, the Elk Cove Estate Room! This modern, Northwest-style addition takes full advantage of our beautiful site tucked into the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range with high ceilings, big glass doors, and generous covered patios. You’ll want to see the views of La Bohème and our Founders Block.
On Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend 2024, Pat and Joe Campbell spoke on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of planting their first grapevines at Elk Cove Vineyards at our 1974 Throwback Party on the Campbell lawn.
While we don’t always make it to the coast to go crabbing ourselves, sitting around the table shelling cooked crab from the fishmonger is also a great way to catch up while anticipating the great meal ahead, usually while savoring a glass of what we in the Campbell family call “cooking wine” (wine poured for the cooks).

“Plump and generous, with raspberry and cranberry flavors that are accented with forest floor, clove and other dusky spices, finishing with refined tannins. Drink now through 2032.” – Wine Spectator
“One of my parents’ long term goals was always to be an estate winery – and only have grapes that we farm and own the vineyards ourselves, but it seemed like a pipe dream…”
The decision about when to harvest these grapes is by far the most important decision I make as a winemaker every year. And to get out there and to stomp around the vineyards, to do your own sampling, to taste the grapes on the vine, to look at the canopy, to look at the health, you can really start to gain a picture for what you might choose to do in the winery in terms of extraction and the amount of time it’s gonna spend in a tank what barrels it’s gonna go into. Everything we see and taste in the vineyard reflects on what we do in the winery.” – Owner/Winemaker Adam Campbell
“Precise, taut, lifted, and balletlike on the palate. Delicious cooling flavors of fresh pomegranates and cranberries interwoven with citrus and spice notes. One of the best Elk Cove Pinots in years. The steeply sloped vineyard has a view of five volcanoes in the Cascade Mountain Range.” – Karen Macneil
In September 2023 we are breaking ground on new construction at Elk Cove, creating a modern, Northwest-style addition that takes full advantage of our beautiful site tucked into the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range. We are keeping our current tasting room, also known as the Roosevelt Room, however, the original octagonal tasting room built in 1981, which operated as our Retail Shop from 2020-2023, is going away. In its place, we’re constructing a larger rectangular building with clean lines, big glass doors, high ceilings and generous covered patios designed to feature the sweeping views of our vineyards.

We are experiencing a Chardonnay renaissance here in Oregon, with growing excitement for this classic white Burgundy grape. Our family is thrilled…
Savory and lean, this leads with zesty lemon-lime scents lined with savory breadcrust notes. The flavors are all apple pulp and dusty minerals, grippy and firm. A pork wine. —Patrick J. Comiskey
