Neal Martin, writing for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, gave our 2014 Goodrich Chardonnay 91 points:
“The last Elk Cove Chardonnay reviewed by the Wine Advocate was back in 1994! Well, it comes back with the 2014 Goodrich Chardonnay, courtesy of an acquisition of four acres of 12-year-0ld vine in the titular vineyard. Fermented in French puncheons and matured for 12 months plus six months in stainless steel, it has a well-defined bouquet with impressive mineralité showing through despite the young age of vines. The palate is well-balanced with good weight in the mouth, notes of brioche and almond infusing the citrus fruit, with impressive weight and depth on the finish. Welcome back. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027.”
