Multnomah Whisk(e)y Library Partnership

Some of you may know that we at Elk Cove are not exclusively wine drinkers – the age of being either a “wine drinker” or a “beer drinker” or a “cocktail drinker” is over! We even enjoy a wine cocktail from time to time – scroll down for a recipe.

So it’s with great enthusiasm that we announce a new partnership with the Multnomah Whisk(e)y Library, a membership-based bar housing a comprehensive collection of spirits. MWL is a Portland institution for all things Whisk(e)y – but unfortunately there is a 3-year waitlist to join… We’ve teamed up with the team at MWL to address this issue.

Join the Elk Cove Enthusiast or Collectors wine club now through February 2021 and receive $50 off your first wine club release, plus, skip the three year wait list and join the Members-only Multnomah Whisk(e)y Library club. Elk Cove members who join the MWL club will be offered $50 off the first year of membership as well as the opportunity to nominate other members during their transition to a members-only club.

Already an Elk Cove Enthusiast or Collectors Club member? The same deal applies but instead of getting $50 off your first wine club release, you’ll get an e-gift card in the amount of $50 to spend on Elk Cove wines. Want to know more? Email Elk Cove Wine Club & Events Manager Taylor Theis for details. Cheers!

THE OREGON SOUR:

Here’s a beautiful wine cocktail for you to try at home, courtesy of our friends at The Multnomah Whiskey Library:

2oz bourbon (we like Buffalo Trace for this cocktail)
1oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
.5oz rich demerara syrup
.5oz egg white
.75 oz red wine (we recommend an Elk Cove Pinot Noir)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients except wine in a shaker and shake well without ice. Next, add ice to shaker. Shake again and strain over ice into an old fashioned glass or rocks glass. Gently float red wine across top of cocktail. Garnish with a lemon peel and amarena cherry on a pick and enjoy!
