The dust has settled and Project Elevate The Estate is complete! We hope you’ll visit us soon and appreciate the beauty of our new space, the Elk Cove Estate Room!
This modern, Northwest-style addition takes full advantage of our beautiful site tucked into the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range with high ceilings, big glass doors, and generous covered patios. You’ll want to see the views of La Bohème and our Founders Block.
Thank you to our staff and visitors for your patience during construction. I also want to give a shout-out to a few of the amazing local businesses who helped create such a stunning and welcoming space:
The Grant Company: our amazing design-build team that brought our ideas to life and kept the project running smoothly and efficiently.
The Joinery: woodworkers who crafted the sustainable Western Black Walnut tables that allow for multiple seating variations.
Rip Caswell: the talented sculptor who created the bronze Roosevelt Elk we affectionately call “Bo” (as in La Bohème Vineyard.)
Farmington Gardens and Creekscape Design: two great local companies teamed up on our landscaping, bringing life back to our gardens.
Studio Zia: the brilliant lighting designer who came up with the gorgeous oversized orb concept.
As with any construction project, there were many more local companies involved in all of the details and we are so grateful for all of their hard work. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a reality over the past 10 months. Cheers!
– Anna Campbell, Owner/Creative Director
Sustainable Construction
The Estate Room was crafted using mass timber, an emerging sustainable forestry product with many benefits. By building with exposed cross-laminated timber (CLT) roofing panels and glued laminated timber beams or “glulams,” we reduced our carbon footprint, and sped up construction while benefiting from the warm feel of natural materials.
The siding on the new building is Shou Sugi Ban, a traditional Japanese building material that is charred to seal and protect the cedar exterior without the need for paint or other sealants. Its surface will age naturally into a silver color.
These sustainable methods give us a building that was faster to build while being longer lasting and more earthquake, pest and fire resistant.
What is the new space for?
The Estate Room is a flexible space. Next time you book a tasting, please ask to check it out.
We’ve already hosted several private events in the space including a family reunion, a wine education class, and a trade dinner. We are currently taking bookings for fall 2024 events. The space is especially well suited to groups of 15-40 guests such as:
Custom Tasting Experiences
Private Wine Dinners
Fundraisers and Receptions
Corporate Meetings and Team Outings
Luncheons and Showers
Birthday and Anniversary Celebrations
Having the flexible space also allows us to rent our Roosevelt Room for larger parties, while continuing tasting service in the Estate Room, so regardless of group size we’d love to talk to you about your next event.
Who is bo?
Sculpted by local artist Rip Caswell and forged at Firebird Bronze here in Oregon, this “Exalted Ruler” bull elk looks toward La Bohème Vineyard from our tasting room courtyard. Bo is named for La Bohème Vineyard. A big thanks to Vineyard Manager Travis Watson and the Grant Company for being so careful moving him into place!
He makes quite the imposing figure – if you visit our tasting room, you won’t miss him!
