2017 Five Mountain

The freshness of wet stone complements savory chestnut, dried leaf, rose tea and cranberry aromas. A wine with umami, ripe apricots, tomato leaf and cassis lead into a long finish of caramel, cinnamon and tea.

“lightly scented of blackberries, tar, earth, red currant and black tea leaves with a spicy undercurrent. It’s light to medium-bodied with spicy fruits, a grainy frame and great freshness, finishing restrained.”

STAFF PICK

Our 2017 Five Mountain is layered and complex, offering notes of sifted and fine wet earth, rustic spices, huckleberry compote and cherry blossoms. When sipping this wine, I am reminded of the smell of a brisk- spring Oregon day, one where droplets of rain are lightly bouncing off newly budded blossoms, piercing the rain and sun in the crisp spring sky.
