2019 Roosevelt
Lively aromatics of cherry, violet, and licorice introduce a heady, velvety palate of cherry pie, chocolate and leather with a generous clove and cedar spice on the finish.

“The 2019 Pinot Noir Roosevelt comes from vines planted in 1993. It has a medium ruby-purple color and alluring scents of red cherries, blueberries, charcuterie, aniseed and iron. Light-bodied, silky and concentrated, it has very fragrant fruits, silky tannins and juicy acidity that calls you in for another sip on the long, allspice-laced finish.”

Sleek and expressive, with handsome raspberry and guava flavors accented by rose petal and orange peel as this glides toward polished tannins.

A powerful Pinot Noir from Elk Cove’s most prized vineyard, Roosevelt, its steep south-facing hillsides offer ample ripening, evident in this wine. The aromatics are fruit-driven, ripe red and black berry fruits accented by barrel spice and crushed violets. The palate is ripe and does show a touch of heat. There are ripe fruit flavours of black plum, cherry compote and dried fig. Hints of pencil lead, cinnamon, and cola notes deliver the well-structured wine to its finish.

Deep magenta. Vibrant, spice- and mineral-accented mulberry and raspberry scents show fine clarity and pick up hints of incense, topsoil and cola with air. Juicy and penetrating on the palate, offering intense red and blue fruit, candied lavender and spicecake flavors that smoothly meld depth and vivacity. Fine-grained, even tannins lend gentle grip to an impressively long, smooth finish that echoes the blue fruit and floral notes with authority.
