2001 Riesling
The 2001 Riesling Willamette Valley has intensity and concentration of fruit that is so indictative of Elk Cove’s white wines. This comes directly from winemaker style in keeping varietal expression intact and specifically from meticulous vineyard maintenance and strict yield control. Thus translating into a wine with a marvelous bouquet of apricots, intense pear and apple overtones with a round, juicy palate.
This wine is delicious now yet has enough fruit and balanced acidity to age a number of years with cool cellaring. Elk Cove Vineyards’ Rieslings are always an excellent alternative white wine choice that is especially good with Dungeness crab, oysters, and blue-veined cheeses.
