2022 Pinot Gris

Our most popular white wine is rich and vibrant, with great texture and mouthfeel.

Nectarine, ginger and citrus peel aromatics lead to a synchronous palate that’s rounded and full with fresh flavors of sliced peach complemented by a savory note of cantaloupe and prosciutto.

“A lovely, delicate white, this blooms with fresh apricot blossom, nectarine and honeysuckle accents while gliding along the crisp finish.”

“The quaffable 2022 Elk Cove Pinot Gris also contains slight amounts of Gewurztraminer and Muscat and gifts a bright, light lemon core with a watery rim in the glass. It is wonderfully floral on the nose, giving up notes of sweet green melon, kiwi fruit, white flowers, and sea breeze on the palate. Medium-bodied with a lovely floral note that hits the mid-palate on the finish, this one should drink well for the next 5-6 years.”
International Wine Report (January 2024)

Richly complex, this is not a simple sipping Pinot Gris. The aromatics are floral and fruit-centred, with plenty of jasmine, ripe pear and toasted almond. The palate is surprisingly rich and complex, with lanolin, beeswax and sweet stone fruit flavours. Textured and rich with candied ginger, honeyed pear and apricot to finish. This is a lot of vinous complexity for less than $20.

Elk Cove is a standard bearer when it comes to Willamette Valley Pinot Gris. Their latest vintage features aromas of peach sorbet, a trace of pineapple and a crushed sprig of lemon balm. Energizing acidity drives a crisp texture and flavors like spearmint and a pear tart sprinkled with cinnamon.

Leading with a dramatically wheaty, nutty lees note, this is fresh and lifted on the palate. A crisp apple tang to its youthful flavors makes it lively and broad, for cress and poached whitefish.
